Renon: South Tyrol’s sunny high plateau & hiking paradise
The Renon high plateau has always been a popular holiday region in summer – nothing has changed there! The Renon cable car and narrow-gauge railway are both a testament to this. The nostalgic “Rittner Bahnl” still runs between Collalbo and Soprabolzano: it is a popular means of transport for trips on the Renon to see tourist attractions on the high plateau. The new Renon cable car takes just 12 minutes to reach the South Tyrolean capital of Bolzano, the “gateway to the Dolomites”, where you can shop in the Old Town or visit interesting museums. This makes Soprabolzano on the Renon – Bolzano’s very own mountain – an ideal base for many holiday activities on the high plateau and countless excursions throughout South Tyrol!
