A few tour recommendations
Renon tour: the easy 10 km circular route takes cyclists uphill towards the forest, past the llamas and horses on the Kaserhof farm, across am Gstrahl and am Kaseracker to Riggermoos and on to Lichtenstern. From here, cyclists continue until they reach the Renon railway station. The M 10 path takes you straight to Wallnereck and then to the Beekeeping Museum on the Plattnerhof farm in Costalovara. From here, you can head back down to the main road and back to the starting point (duration: 2 hours).
Cycle to the Corno del Renon’s summit: this 12 km intermediate tour first takes cyclists along a paved road with a steady uphill slope, past forests and meadows, then to a wide forest road on a constant uphill route through the forest. Stop and take a break to enjoy the panorama of the Schlern mountain and the peaks of the Dolomites before reaching the summit of the Corno del Renon. After a hearty meal in the cabin, head back down the same way (duration: 3 hours).
Santa Croce di Lazfons – Sarentino – Bolzano: this difficult 67 km mountain bike tour takes in the Lobishof farm, Riggermoos, Pemmern and Rosswangen with the Dolomites providing a breathtaking backdrop. On a steep forest road, cyclists will pass the Felturner Hütte inn and head down the Corno del Renon to Gasteiger Sattel, then to Moar in Plun Alm, uphill towards Stöfflhütte and Gfohler Alm and on narrower paths to Santa Croce di Lazfons. Across the Lücklscharte mountain pass, cyclists can get down to Getrumalm and take the wide path to the Reinswald ski region. Here you can head into the valley on a paved road, then take a forest road and a nice single track to the village of Sarentino. Follow the main road to Bolzano and take the Renon cable car back to the starting point (duration: 6.5 hours).
